How do I set up my AQUILA PRO AI router via the Device Backup feature?
The Device Backup feature allows you to restore your router settings on your original Wi-Fi router or a new Wi-Fi router during the initial setup process. To restore your router settings, please follow the instructions below:
Notes:
1. Make sure you have a router backup file under your account.
2. Your mobile device must have Internet connection to retrieve a backup file from the cloud.
3. A backup file includes Wi-Fi settings, Internet settings, firmware update settings, and operation mode. For the rest of router settings, please configure them manually after the initial setup.
Step 1: Launch the AQUILA PRO AI app, and then log in with your D-Link account.
Step 2: Choose or create a Location for your new Wi-Fi router. By default, you have a default location.
Step 3: Tap Install New Device under the location where you would like to set up the Wi-Fi router.
Step 4: Tap D-Link Devices
Step 5: Tap Next to scan the QR code on your router.
Step 6: Tap Set Up as Router.
Step 7: Connect your hardware and power on the router.
Step 8: Wait till the Status LED turns Blinking Orange.
Step 9: All available device backup files display. Select one from the list, and then tap Apply Backup Settings.
Step 10: Make sure your mobile device connects to the router’s default Wi-Fi network. Then tap NEXT to continue.
Step 11: Wait while the backup file is being restored on your router.
Step 12: Enter a new admin password for your router.
Step 13: Wait while your router is being added into your D-Link account. Once ready, you can access your router remotely without the need to connect to the router’s network.
Step 14: Wait while your router is rebooted. Then, connect to the Wi-Fi name you’ve just configured.
Step 15: Please choose where you would like to place your router. Or enter a new room for its placement.
Step 16: If you have another Mesh device in the box, simply power on the device and it will automatically pair with the router you’ve just configured. Skip this step if you don’t have any.
Step 17: You can now manage your device anytime and anywhere with the Internet access. Tap Finish, and then tap the device to the device’s management page.
