The DWL-P50 does not power up my device using a non D-Link PoE switch. Why?
All D-Link PoE switches (DES-1316K, DES-1526) use mode B. NonD-Link switched may use mode A or B, thus connecting a DWL-P50may not power up the end device.

There are 8 wires going through a CAT5 cable. Only 4 of them areused for data traffic, Power Over Ethernet is a way of usingthe remaining 4 wires to power up a remote device.
