D-Link brings enterprise-class networking to small businesses through multifunction Unified Services Router
Affordable, flexible device adds momentum to all levels of VPN router market

D-Link is enabling even small businesses and branch offices by providing enterprise-class network security at a compelling price-point with the launch of the Unified Services Router (DSR-150N).
A report from Research and Markets forecasts the Global Virtual Private Network Router market to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 4.7 per cent between 2012 and 2016. One of the key factors cited for this market growth is the growing demand for cost-effective solutions.
The D-Link Unified Service Router is a readily-affordable, high performance solution that enables business to secure their network whether in the office, at home or out on the road. A fully featured virtual private network (VPN) provides mobile workers and branch offices with a secure link to your network. The router also supports separate Virtual LANs (VLANs) meaning the network can be partitioned, for instance to enable visitors to have Internet access, without giving them access to the full corporate network.
The wide area network (WAN) can also be augmented by a 3G mobile data connection - by simply plugging a dongle into the USB port. This means the router will automatically switch to the mobile network if the wired Internet connection fails.
"These days, even small businesses and branch offices need robust and secure networking, but it has to be simple to implement and manage," said Kevin Wen, President of D-Link Europe Ltd. "The D-Link Unified Services Router is a cost-effective solution that enables organisations to provide secure remote access and separate network access for employees and guests with guaranteed connectivity."
The Unified Services Router supports all the latest networking features including IPv6 compliance, bandwidth management and an SPI firewall. A Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) VPN tunnel provides remote access to a central corporate network. Similarly, site-to-site VPN tunnels use IP Security (IPSec) Protocol, Point-to-Point Tunnelling Protocol (PPTP) or Layer 2 Tunnelling Protocol (L2TP) to facilitate branch office connectivity through encrypted virtual links.
The Unified Services Router is also a D-Link Green product. As such, it will adjust power usage based on the detected cable length and link status. This ensures power draw is kept to a minimum while compliance with RoHS and WEEE directives make this D-Link Green certified device an environmentally responsible choice.
