Challenge
GICOM needed to upgrade and modernise its main network and Wi-Fi infrastructure. This operation was conducted through a tender procurement procedure and not only required the replacement of outdated components, but also the integration of its sophisticated audio distribution systems. The complexity of the project meant coordinating with multiple suppliers, managing tight deadlines and ensuring operational continuity during the works, while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Solution
D-Link has partnered with the system integrator C2 Corporate S.r.l.* to provide an integrated solution that includes modern, high-performance physical appliances and software for remote management of the entire infrastructure, deployed at the Shanghai shipyard and on merchant vessels. The switches and access points used are a flexible and highly efficient solution, while Nuclias Connect management software provides simple centralised management, allowing the entire implemented network to be controlled from a single point.

Result
By utilising D-Link products, the technological upgrade allowed GICOM to achieve improved performance and enhanced fluidity in the audio-video communications of its systems. Moreover, with the Nuclias Connect solution, GICOM now has the ability to take control of the entire network, while remotely managing its switches and access points in a simple and intuitive manner. Additionally, network alerts enable IT administrators to monitor the real-time status of the installed devices and respond quickly in case of any issues.
