Sina Hotels was born from the project of the Bocca family, when Count Ernesto Bocca founded the company in 1958 with the vision of creating a group of high-level hotels in Italy. A dream come true, and which today is constantly growing thanks to the ever broader vision of Bernabò Bocca, current President of Sina Hotels, which has been carrying on a long tradition of luxury hotels in Italy for more than 60 years.

Challenge

The Sina Hotels chain needed to upgrade its network infrastructure to update the Wi-Fi service provided to customers and, at the same time, migrate to a new open source system that would allow for greater content customization, to ensure best customer experience.

Solution

D-Link and the system integrator Upload S.n.c. of Sesto Fiorentino* have collaborated for a progressive replacement of third-party networking hardware present in the network and now obsolete, with D-Link Access Points and Managed PoE Switches and have foreseen the transition to a new captive portal configured for the needs of Sina group, with personalized login and landpage.

Result

All the offices of the Sina chain are now able to provide their customers with better performing Wi-Fi, with better network coverage and greater reliability, with a personalized captive portal and an e-mail collection system for commercial purposes. The implementation of simple remote management via Nuclias Connect also allows the group's IT team to be able to easily manage, from a single interface, all the devices present in the infrastructure of the various dispersed offices and always have the performance of the various networks. The upgrade of the connectivity service has consequently led to an increase in positive reviews from customers for all the hotels in the group.
